I work in a net, that is, my memories and settings files are
in a different computer. I get this message when trying to open
DVX and DVX does not find my settings file. Once the connection
is reestablished, everything goes back to normal.
If you have changed the location of the settings file:
Go to Start > Run
and type regedit
Inside the Registry Editor, go to Edit
> Find, and look for settings.dvset
You should fine an entry called SettingsPath. Right-click it
and choose modify. Enter the new path of the file settings.dvset.

This means one of two things:
a) The settings file is corrupt. In this case, you should restore
it from a backup or if you don't have, rename the corrupt file
to a different name so that DVX will generate a new one. You will
lose your clients/subjects list as well as Autocorrect/Autotext
and default filter configurations (including Delimiters and Exceptions).
b) It's read-only. In this case, just mark it as read-write.
